Follow the steps below to uninstall Kurzweil 3000 from your Mac computer. You'll need to remove the Kurzweil 3000 application, delete Kurzweil from the Dock, remove the Kurzweil preferences files, and remove any Read the Web extensions.

- Close the Kurzweil 3000 application.
- Close any other applications you have open on your computer.
- To open the 'Application' window, press
shift+command+A
. - Drag the Kurzweil 3000 icon to the trash can in the Dock.
- To empty the trash can, right-click the trash icon and select Empty Trash.

To remove Kurzweil 3000 from the Dock:
- Right-click the Kurzweil 3000 icon on the Dock.
- From the menu that appears, select Options and then click Remove from Dock.

To remove the Kurzweil 3000 preferences:
- Select the Finder from the Dock.
- In the Apple bar at the top of the screen, click Go.
- Hold down the

key, and you'll see 'Library' appear as an item in the list. - Click Library and release the

key. - In the 'Library' window, open the

files (there should be two or three of them). - Right-click the

files and select Move to Trash. - Scroll down and find the
Kurzweil 3000 Vocabulary List
folder; right-click the folder and select Move to Trash. - Close the 'Library' window.
- To empty the trash can, right-click the trash icon and select Empty Trash.
Read the Web extension
Follow the appropriate steps below to remove the Read the Web extension from your Chrome or Firefox browser.
Chrome
- Open Chrome.
- At the upper right, select the Customize and Control Menu, which is a button with three small dots in a vertical line:
- From the menu, select More Tools, and then Extensions.
- Find the 'Read the Web' extension and click Remove.
- In the confirmation prompt that appears, click Remove.
- Close Chrome.
Firefox
- Open Firefox.
- To open the Firefox 'Add-ons Manager', press
shift+command+A
. - In the menu on the left, click Extensions.
- Find the 'Read the Web' extension and, to the right, click Remove.
- Close Firefox.
